Recycling Depo - Working Group

Dear Lake Gardens group,
I think it is time to join our tasks into one organised entity and start acting as a group rather then independent individuals. Please use this blog to communicate issues regarding our concerns about the proposed Recycling Depo

Good to see this level of community concern and organised action. Thank you for taking the time to make sure that council understand the impact of placing clashing zones (residential and industrial) together.

It is time council addressed the incongruity of past decisions and made an effort to look at the impact of noise, smell and visual pollution on the residents of this estate, which is increasingly hemmed in by factories. Shame on council for allowing an estate in this position without considering the obvious proximity to industry. Don't compound past zoning mistakes by adding more factories to our area.

If you don't understand about pollution, please understand that you are affecting the value of our homes both now and into the future.Would you spend good money to live near a factory? Well there are a lot of people in Lake Gardens who are pretty angry, because this is the situation they now find themselves in.

People in Lake Gardens have shown that they have the power of conviction, keep it going!

Has the EPA done an assessment about air quality as a result of the propoesed plant: has anyone followed up to find out the impact of having extra smells on top of the smells we already get from Jo White and Biostarch? How many smells does this 'lovely' part of Ballarat have to contend with? Whatever happened to fresh air? It is obviously just an unnecessary luxury!??
